At Purple since February 2017, Lauren advises clients on crisis communications and reputation management efforts across a broad range of industries. Before joining Purple, Lauren served for five years at the U.S. Department of State, most recently as Lead Advisor for Strategic Communications. Among other responsibilities, she served as the communications point person for oversight issues, including media and congressional inquiries into the attacks in Benghazi, and Secretary Clinton’s use of personal email while Secretary of State. Over the course of her time at State, Lauren also staffed Secretary Clinton and Secretary Kerry’s communications teams, assisting the execution of media interviews and events all over the world. She has on-the-ground communications experience in Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, Ethiopia and Vietnam. Lauren began her career on Capitol Hill working for Congressman John Sarbanes. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Government.
