Ted Newton

Ted is a campaign manager at Purple, drawing on decades of expertise in both politics and corporate public affairs. Before joining the Purple team, Ted ran his own strategic communications firm, applying his knowledge of comms and opposition research to both political and corporate clients. Ted is most proud of his work with Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, where he led the arduous and top-secret effort to vet the candidate’s vice-presidential short list. Ted holds a BA in Government from Cornell University and lives in Georgetown with his wife, two children, and two cats. In his free time, he is often working on the (sometimes disastrous) restoration of their c. 1812 townhouse.

“I’ve known many Purple people for years, and I’m thrilled to be joining these friends as their co-worker.”

Purple has a diversity of talent and experience that is unmatched, and it serves our clients incredibly well.”

Those who know me would say I’m never far from my red pen, and that I’m a stickler for citations, grammar, and spelling.”

I took numerous courses on Medieval and Baroque art and architecture in college, and in another life, I probably would have been an architect.”
