Tom Egan

Tom uses his political and digital background to work with clients on campaign planning and activation. Prior to joining Purple Strategies in 2021, Tom spent the 2020 cycle at Priorities USA, the largest Democratic super PAC, where he led a team responsible for nearly $40 million in digital advertising to persuade and mobilize voters in the presidential race and several Senate races. Tom’s experience also includes leading digital engagement efforts for six different independent expenditures ranging from the labor-backed For Our Future PAC to candidate-specific IE’s in federal, state, and local races. Tom got his start in national politics working on Capitol Hill for Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), the top Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Tom graduated with a degree in Marketing from Rutgers University.

“I knew this was a place that I wanted to work when I learned of Purple’s efforts years ago to get “digital” out of a silo and integrated everywhere. This strategy exemplifies Purple’s smart, ahead of the curve thinking.”

“People spend more and more time looking at screens usually connected to the internet. It’s important to know where and how to reach people online — and it’s just as important to know how to integrate online engagement with the overall campaign.”

“It’s vital to always teach yourself new things – especially when working in digital. Be naturally curious. I find that whether it’s researching new digital ad platforms, learning how to produce a short documentary, building websites, or how to fix my motorcycle, it’s important to constantly exercise that muscle.”
