Josh Perry is an avid puzzle-solver who has been a key player in a wide range of fast-paced environments where pressure is high and results and deadlines matter. He began his career driving digital and communications strategy on a number of campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, and President of the United States in addition to spending time working on Capitol Hill in the U.S. Senate. Following his stint in politics, Josh shifted to the corporate world to guide and execute corporate and public affairs responses to crisis situations including the COVID-19 pandemic, labor negotiations, data breaches, and more. At Purple, Josh relishes the challenge of identifying key audiences our clients must reach, devising strategies to reach them, and continuously measuring to ensure our tactics are achieving their desired impact and making adjustments along the way.
“One of my most important professional lessons came from a mentor who would repeat the line, ‘Data without context is just counting.’ It’s crucial when speaking with colleagues or clients to not assume that the numbers will speak for themselves, but instead create a narrative using the numbers as building blocks. Anyone can pull and send a report – what our clients are relying on us to do is provide and act on insights based upon what we can read from the data.”
“In today’s world, the only certainty is change. A sound plan from six months ago may be woefully out of date today, and that’s why it’s so important we stay on top of the latest tools, trends, and technologies to ensure we’re connecting the right messages with the appropriate audiences as efficiently as possible.”
“One of the things I love about working at Purple is that I am surrounded by people who are constantly asking, ‘Why?’ When you understand the ‘why’ behind a request – whether it’s from a coworker or a client – the innovation necessary to deliver the ‘how’ comes a lot easier.”
