We conduct all research in accordance with applicable laws and industry standards, including the Insights Association Code of Standards and Ethics for Marketing Research and Data Analytics, ESOMAR’s ICC/ESOMAR International Code, and EphMRA’s Legal and Ethical Guidelines.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Research Privacy Policy explains how Purple Strategies and our research partners collect, use, store, and protect information obtained from participants in market and opinion research studies. It applies to all qualitative, quantitative, and digital research conducted by or on behalf of Purple Strategies.
2. Confidentiality and Participant Information
Purple Strategies will observe the confidentiality of all research participants.
Information collected will be used solely for legitimate research purposes.
Participant information will not be sold, rented, or shared with outside parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
Information gathered in screeners and surveys will be used only to determine study eligibility and to ensure accurate representation within the research.
Personally identifiable information (PII), such as full names or contact details, will only be collected with the participant’s consent and will be separated from research responses when data are analyzed or reported.
Responses will be reported in aggregate form and will never be attributed to individuals without explicit consent.
3. Use of Recruitment Partners
When Purple Strategies engages recruitment partners or panel providers, those partners may collect and maintain participant contact information in their own databases for recruitment purposes.
These partners are required to adhere to equivalent data protection and confidentiality standards, and their databases are never sold or shared outside of legitimate research activities.
4. Employee Confidentiality
All Purple Strategies employees and contractors who handle research data are required to sign and adhere to strict confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. All employees and contractors involved in research receive periodic data protection and confidentiality training as part of Purple Strategies’ Data Loss Prevention program.
5. Participant Rights
Participation in Purple Strategies research is voluntary. Participants may decline to answer any question or withdraw at any time without penalty.
Participants have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

6. Sensitive or Proprietary Information
During research, participants should not disclose confidential or proprietary information belonging to their employer, clients, or other third parties.
If a participant believes a question requires disclosure of such information, they should decline to answer or notify the moderator or researcher.
Participants may be exposed to confidential materials (such as new product ideas or concepts). In such cases, participants agree to maintain confidentiality and not share or use this information for any other purpose.
7. Compensation
Participants may receive compensation in recognition of their time and input. Compensation is not intended to influence opinions or endorse any product, organization, or viewpoint.
8. Data Security and Retention
Purple Strategies maintains appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect research data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Access to personal or sensitive participant information is restricted to authorized personnel who require it for legitimate research purposes, consistent with Purple Strategies’ Data Loss Prevention Policy.
Personal data are retained only as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were collected or as required by law and industry codes.
In the unlikely event of a suspected or actual data loss or unauthorized access, Purple Strategies will initiate its internal Data Loss Prevention and Incident Response procedures to investigate, contain, and mitigate any risk, and will notify affected parties in accordance with applicable laws.
9. International and Legal Compliance
Purple Strategies complies with applicable privacy laws and data protection regulations, including (as applicable):
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for studies involving EU residents.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.
Other relevant state, federal, and international privacy frameworks.

Purple Strategies may update this Research Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
