Ryan is a senior director at Purple advising clients on brand and reputation strategy. He helps organizations with corporate repositioning, narrative development and multi-stakeholder communications. Before joining the firm, he was Executive Vice President at Edelman, leading engagements across agriculture, defense, energy, financial services, government, healthcare, higher education, industrials and international development. During the pandemic, he served as Chief of Staff at UCL’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and worked closely with the World Health Organization to launch the Council on the Economics of Health for All. He began his career at advertising agencies Leo Burnett, Y&R, and FCB, contributing to campaigns recognized at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. He earned an MBA from Oxford’s Saïd Business School, a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and was named a 2024 Emerging Leader by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
