Kate has been immersed in the political media landscape of Washington, D.C. her entire life. Before landing at Purple, she spent over a decade as a Professor of English and Creative Writing at The George Washington University and Northern Virginia Community College, where she developed a deep understanding of how adults learn, grow and find their voice. That foundation proved to be the perfect launching pad for the work she does today. As Purple’s Director of Operations and Learning and Development, Kate facilitates all internal programming, learning and development initiatives and firm events, oversees Purple’s internship program and helps drive the internal communications that keep the firm connected and informed. In this role, Kate is instrumental in creating the curriculum, resources and opportunities that upskill staff, foster growth and further define what it means to be Purple. Kate is a proud double alum of George Mason University, where she earned her B.A. in English and Creative Writing with a minor in Film and Media Studies and her M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction Writing.
