Kota Mizutani is a communications and engagement expert with extensive experience across the federal government. Before joining Purple, Kota was Senior Advisor for Public Engagement at the White House, where he led President Biden’s outreach to Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. Kota cut his teeth over a nearly decade-long stint in Congress — from crafting compelling narratives as a speechwriter to leading messaging strategy as Deputy Communications Director for the House Committee on Education and Labor. Kota holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University.
